Rome October 2013 – Thursday 31st will see the opening of the multimedia exhibition Icons&Idols at La Pelanda, MACRO Testaccio (Museum of Contemporary Art, Rome).
This unique event premieres a collaboration between Marta Czokand London based Jacek Ludwig Scarso with Elastic Theatre.
Icons&Idols is an interdisciplinary exploration of sacred and profane themes. Through paintings and multimedia installations, the viewer embarks upon a bizarre journey, shifting between the world that surrounds us and our most intimate thoughts.
Sharing a humourous tone, the works of both artists intertwine in an environment that is reminiscent of a sacred space. If, on the one hand, Marta Czok looks exposes the idols and myths of contemporary society, Jacek Ludwig Scarso and Elastic Theatredraw on the sacred as a language dense with ambiguity.
Icons&Idols is an immersive experience, in a mysterious, yet curiously familiar dimension.
