A new show by Marta Czok is currently taking place at<\/strong>\u00a0Museo Carlo Bilotti in Villa Borghese. It is titled\u00a0Mother Rome.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The show, promoted by\u00a0Roma Capitale \u2013 Sovrintendenza Capitolina ai Beni Culturali\u00a0<\/strong>and curated by\u00a0Diana Alessandrini<\/strong>, is a collection of pantings by\u00a0Marta Czok\u00a0<\/strong>portraying the Eternal City where the British painter of Polish origins lives. All the pantings are acrylic and graphite on canvas and are a summa of the research of this painter whose art, as the curator says, \u00abgoes against the tide. The painting that best represents the exhibition is totem\u00a0Roma<\/em>(2015), \u00a0a polyptych 2.40 metres tall, \u00abcreated especially for the Museo Carlo Bilotti, it represents Rome with its monuments, in the background, but also with its modern buildings. With its corporative protests and the pilgrims in the Vatican. With its tourists and the locals too. While below, one can still find the ruins of the Roman empire, a grandeur that today seems lost for good\u00bb.\u00a0Marta Czok<\/strong>represents a unicum in the contemporary art scene. She leaves no space for imperfection, and moves easily from one style to the other, from portraits to caricatures. \u00a0The paintings in this show create a strong dialogue with the\u00a0Collezione Bilotti<\/strong>\u00a0and especially with\u00a0De Chirico<\/strong>\u2018s masterpieces.<\/p>\n
